- Biography -

Kurt Merkel was born in Wooster, Ohio, and grew up on Long Island, New York. With a degree in Advertising Art & Design, he began working as an art director, illustrator and calligrapher for a variety of ad agencies and design studios in New York City. Kurt moved to Orlando, Florida, in 1989 and by 1992 opened his own design firm. In 1997 Kurt began exploring and developing his own style of expression and technique as a fine artist in the world of abstract art.
